WoW Makes Up Half of Acti-Blizz
    2009-03-10 00:00:00
Despite having a host of blockbuster franchises under its belt like Guitar Hero and Call of Duty, analysts estimate that about half of Activision-Blizzard's earnings in fiscal 2009 can be attributed to MMO behemoth World of Warcraft. Stern Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia reported Wednesday that the subscription-based WoW amounted to 30 cents per share out of 60 - a total of about $400 million for the fiscal year that ended in December. With 11.5 millio...

    Wow Power Leveling
    2009-03-10 00:00:00
Ah! Gold, that shiny yellow stuff around which your life in World Of Warcraft revolves. When you have lots of it, you are like a god. When you don't have it, all you can do is feel envious of the filthy rich players. Like in Alcoholics Anonymous, Step 1 is to recognize and accept that there is a problem: In this case, the problem is you don't have gold. Step 2: Figure out the different ways of making gold. Step 3: Take massive action to make fast World Of Warcraft gold. I'll take it for granted that we've cleared Step 1. Let's talk about Step 2: What are the different ways we can make World Of Warcraft gold quickly 1. Questing - Any decent MMORPG has quests for you to complete. World Of Warcraft is no exception. Sometimes, there are puzzles to solve. Almost always, there are foes to slay. This is usually the most fun part of the game. There are only 3 things to remember: slay the mobs, pick up the loot, and collect the reward. 2. Farming - No, you don't go out and plant wheat or potatoes in the ground. What you do is go on a nice rambling tour around the country-side, kill the mobs and collect the stuff they leave behind. Try to remember that farmers are bullies. You want to kill lots of mobs...
    WoW Profession Guides
    2009-03-10 00:00:00
If you have questions or want to share ideas, please visit our Professions Forum. This guide will help you to level your Alchemy from 1 to 450. Its going to require a lot of herbs, so you are going to need to buy them, or take up herbalism as well to be able to supply your own. Alchemy and Herbalism go well together, as one will feed to materials for the other. One of the first steps is to assemble the raw materials you will need. The herbs can often be found on the auction house, if you dont gather them yourself. The draw back of buying the materials is it will be very expensive. You will also need to pick up vials. These can be purchased at a alchemy supply NPC for a minimal cost. Vials you will need: 2. Empty Vial x 80 3. Leaded Vial x 90 4. Crystal Vial x 85 5. Imbued Vials x 100 Herbs you will need: 1. Peacebloom x 60 2 . Silverleaf x 60 3. Mageroyal x 20 4. Briarthorn x 90 5. Stranglekelp x 50 6 . Bruiseweed x 35 7. Wild Steelbloom x 10 8. Kingsblood x 40 9. Liferoot x 40 10. Goldthorn x 50 11. Khadgars Whisker x 20 12. Sungrass x 70 13. Blindweed x 35 14. Arthas Tears x 25 15. Golden Sansam x 60 16. Mountain Silversage x 30 17. Fe...

WoW Rogue Guide - Grinding Guide From Levels 30-44
    2009-03-10 00:00:00
This is a guide made specifically for rogues and will help out your leveling tremendously. It also will give you great places to grind as well as make you tons of extra gold while power leveling to level 70. First things first, here is a list of items that you will find very useful while grinding and will help reduce cooldown time between fights as well as helping you dish out the most DPS you can while grinding: 1. Frost Oil x 4 2. Instant Poison x 20 3. Thistle Tea x 5 C helps a lot whenever you are in trouble because it will help you kill things quicker. Great to use whenever you are fighting 2 mobs at the same time. 4. Soothing Turtle Bisque x 20 C This gives you +8 Stamina (80 more life) and +8 Spirit, nuff said. 5. Bandages x 20 C You can probably figure this out. 6. Healing Potion x 5 C Same goes with these. Next thing we need to analyze is what spec you want to use when grinding. Just remember this really is just a base as you should see what you would rather use that would fit your playst...
    WoW Rookie
    2009-03-10 00:00:00
WoW Rookie is brought to our readers to help our newest players get acclimated to the game. Make sure you send a note to WoW Insider if you have suggestions for what new players need to know. I spend most of my evenings perusing the North American and European WoW Foums for interesting topics for our Forum Post of the Day feature. I've come across all kinds of threads from the uplifting, to the whiney, to the popular discussion. They are a great resource for tips and strategies. Blizzard welcomes constructive criticism and suggestions from the WoW community. You are welcome to be a part of it as well. There are a few things you should know about the forums. Blues and Greens The content on the forums is largely player driver, the text of there is usually white. There are, however, several times that official posts come through from Blizzard staff. These appear in blue text rather than the standard white. Game Masters and Community managers do occasionally respond to individual concerns, but more often make announcements via the forums. Any post that has an official replay has a Blizz logo on it. The threads that originated from Blizzard Staff have Author names in Blue. You can skip right to official...
    WoW Rookie

New around here? WoW Rookie points WoW's newest players to the resources they need to get acclimated. Send us a note to suggest a WoW Rookie topic. Do you ask for help from other players in game? If you do, do the other players actually help out C or do they slam you for being a "stupid n00b"? Friendly reader Gisbon wrote in recently to say that while he enjoys helping new players, they don't always pick the best ways or times to ask. Granted, today's in-game culture is a little different than it was back in the day. In the earliest days of the game, before game information was readily available on the web, players had to ask other players for help in game. If you were confused by a class mechanic, you'd find a higher-level player and send a few whispers. If you were lucky, you'd find someone with time to answer (most seemed to be willing) and at least point you in the right direction. Today, questions to random strangers can net you insults for being clueless C but you could strike gold, too, with some great insights and the beginnings of a new friendship or mentor relationship. Look up simple facts yourself. Alt-tab out of the game so that you can open up your web b...

New around here? WoW Rookie points WoW's newest players to the resources they need to get acclimated. Send us a note to suggest a WoW Rookie topic. Ding ... you're 80! So what are you going to be when you grow up? Don't get us wrong: levelling your first character to 80 (especially if this is your first massively multiplayer online game) is a not-insignificant accomplishment C but you're not quite ready for prime time yet. Hitting level 80 in WoW is less like being a graduating senior than it is being a new sophomore. You've finished WoW 101; now it's time to make sure you've covered all your core classes and start taking a stab at some electives and specialized coursework. If you've just hit level 80, consider this basic checklist a graduation gift of sorts from WoW Rookie. It'll help pointed you in the right direction for whatever type of game play you're interested in pursuing. Your game's just beginning. Dig in! Keep questing. Once you turn level 80, quests reward more gold in lieu of experience. By continuing to quest, you'll rack up gold faster, earn quest- and reputation-reward gear (sell or disenchant what you can't use a...
